Earth Source Hydrogen Limited (ESH) is an exploration and development business targeting the discovery and development of natural hydrogen resources in selected geographies.
ESH has been founded by a successful group of industry professionals with access to extensive funding capacity and industry contacts, as well as deep expertise in all aspects of energy resources exploration, development and marketing.

background

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe occurring naturally in the earth's crust. An increasing weight of scientific evidence supports the premise that there is sufficient natural hydrogen in the earth's crust to supply all our energy needs indefinitely. Natural hydrogen has the potential to become a sustainable, zero carbon energy source forever.
Unlike other forms of hydrogen which involve a costly manufacturing process, natural hydrogen can be recovered with minimal additional processing and is expected to be substantially cheaper to produce.

Offering significant commercial and environmental advantages over traditional carbon-based energy sources, natural hydrogen can satisfy the demand for an economic source of zero carbon energy on a global basis.
Different processes can give rise to formation of hydrogen in the subsurface. In general, hydrogen is associated with crystalline rocks, rather than sedimentary ones. Once formed, hydrogen migrates through the subsurface until trapped by an appropriate geological trap.

As a replacement for carbon-based fuels, natural hydrogen offers significant cost and emissions advantages relative to other sources of hydrogen production because the forms of manufactured hydrogen are either very expensive if produced in an environmentally sympathetic manner or cheaper in dollar terms but more expensive from an environmental perspective.

There is no doubt that hydrogen will play a key role in decarbonising our essential, but energy-intensive, heavy industries like steel production, shipping, heavy transport and aviation. The infrastructure is already being built to facilitate these changes and governments around the world have hydrogen strategies and budgets to make it so.

about

who are earth source hydrogen?

At ESH we strongly believe that hydrogen, generated through naturally occurring processes in the subsurface, is a key transformational fuel of the future.
We intend to unlock the potential of this exciting, revolutionary energy source by using the considerable skill-sets and experience of our team.

Our access to funding and capabilities in acreage capture, coupled with our expertise in modern exploration techniques, will be key to capturing prime hydrogen rich real estate. Capturing the correct acreage is the first step in the identification and commercial exploitation of natural hydrogen.
We are preparing to exploit the potential of naturally occurring hydrogen in several jurisdictions including Australia, Canada and Spain. Ongoing technical work has confirmed that the underlying tectonic environment and geological history of these areas high grades the probability of discovering commercial quantities of natural hydrogen.

We will do this with the utmost respect for the communities and environments that we operate in. We have years of experience creating strong bonds with the indigenous peoples and other stakeholders of Western Australia, where it has been part of our core strategy to deliver transparency, honesty and informed engagement. At all times, we will "tread lightly on the land".

We are committed to acting with integrity, abiding by the laws of the countries in which we operate and working cooperatively with partners and stakeholders alike.

The Rt. Hon. Lord Howard of Lympne CH KC was the Member of Parliament for Folkestone and Hythe from 1983 to 2010 during which time he served in the Cabinets of Margaret Thatcher and John Major as Secretary of State for Employment and the Environment and Home Secretary. He was Leader of the Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition from 2003-2005.

He retired from the House of Commons in 2010, was made a Life Peer in that year and a Companion of Honour in 2011. Since then, he has devoted himself to charitable and business activities serving on a number of corporate boards and as Chair of Hospice UK from 2010 to 2018. Lord Howard has chaired, advised and served on the Board of several companies including those involved in energy and mineral exploration and the production of natural gas.
